Our Beers

From 1989 to 2003, Denison’s Brewing Company and Restaurants was located at 75 Victoria Street. There, it brewed well respected examples of Bavarian style beers. The beer styles offered at the brewpub and its surrounding restaurants included Helles, Dunkel, Märzen, Bock, Maibock and a couple of others. From 2003 on, two of its most popular beers have been produced by means of licensing agreements. Denison's Weissbier and Dunkel are now brewed under the direction of the original Brewmaster, Michael Hancock at the Cool Beer Brewing Company in Etobicoke, Ontario.
At Denison’s we are growing cautiously, making sure not to sacrifice quality. Hopefully, over time, more of the above beer styles from the brewpub will be reintroduced to the portfolio of Denison’s beer currently available. Until then...
WHAT’S AVAILABLE NOW:
Weissbier
'Weissbier' is the more widely used term to describe wheat beer in Bavaria. Other names for this beer style include Weizen or Hefeweizen.

Our Weissbier is an authentic Bavarian style wheat beer and has attracted an extremely loyal following and wonderful reviews from some of the world's top beer writers. In 2002 Denison's Wheat Beer became rated #1 in the world in the 'German Hefeweizen' category on ratebeer.com, and has remained in that place to this date. The category rating page is here.
Denison's Weissbier is true to style, served unfiltered and is very refreshing. Although its only ingredients are malted barley, malted wheat, imported hops, water and yeast, the special Bavarian yeast produces the classic but unusual flavours of a true wheat beer. Flavour notes such as banana, clove and vanilla are all present.
Dunkel

Denison’s Dunkel is an authentic bottom fermented Dark beer (lager) in the Munich style. It is characteristically a little sweet in the start, followed by a good malty character and continuing with a long, complex finish. It is brewed with a majority of Bavarian malt, including special dehusked dark malt from Bamberg to give it unusual smoothness.
It's a great "session" beer.
